So what if it’s privately held? You have a privately held car, say. I come to you and say “I wanna buy this for 15k”. There, I made an unsolicited bid. You can sell or not sell. The bid is a bid.
- fullshark 3y agoX = Twitter. Why would you pay 5 billion to get a particular stock ticker symbol for your privately held company? Its shares are not traded.
- mgiannopoulos 3y agoMusk has commented a few times that in 5 or so years he might but X back in the stock market.
- fullshark 3y agoRemains a ludicrous leap in logic.
- mgiannopoulos 3y agoFor sure, I was only replying on whether X/Twitter will remain private in the future. Given that Musk has put other peoples money in the purchase, they will probably ask for an exit at some point.
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoOf course. People are simply playing along with the myth of Musk having 300 billion cash to play around with and throw a few billion here, few billion there. They don't realize how deeply in the hole he is right now. Plus the fact he's reckless like hell (I mean, he did spend 44 billion on a whim by signing for that whim in April).
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoThe bid was not by X / Twitter. But there was a bid.
