You still need zoning otherwise people are going to build a poison-spewing factory right next to your house. Eliminating zoning entirely is reactionary and going too far. What we do need is to just pull zoning back. Really it’s just a few changes. Don’t require single family homes with yards. Allow high density residential and also allow mixed zoning where you have apartments on top of small commercial spaces. Also, remove parking minimums. That’s really going to cover 90% of the issues.
