Some businesses might not think its worth the time for their IT staff to decommission Apple laptops properly so their junk handler gets better resale values. And its not always easy to contact that guy who was selling stuff on Craigslist after the fact. Why not have it only get remote bricked if its reported stolen instead of just assuming if some not clear, especially to non-tech people, steps were not done it is?
