To be fair, this is more global than US politics. China's got a huge role, along with the WHO, and most European countries. But yes, it makes me extremely sad how politics has gotten in the way of science. I can now tell what politics a scientist has by which covid origin theory he believes. Things shouldn't be this way, but this is what happens when political entities get involved in the evidence.
