Not sure how i feel about “ML” that would likely change over time being used in a VCS. This would make commits or whatever unit of work you want to save at non deterministic. Also as people we still care about file format and likely want to track it. If anything what you are talking about would just be a different view in a VCS that would still want to track file level changes if it was ever adopted. For what your talking about though I don’t think the fundamental VCS really matters. You can do everything you are talking about with a tool that uses the diff from git.
