Harvard University Encourages Students to Go on Food Stamps
- mydriasis 3y agoWhen the current generation stays far away from college, we won't wonder what happened. Friend of mine who teaches mathematics at a local college says that enrollment is down so far that he's probably going to have to retire. He can't even get anyone who's taking basic algebra -- the numbers are just that far gone. And with prices the way they are and wages the way they are -- is it a shocker?
- rogerkirkness 3y agoI didn't go to college and compared to friends who did the personal balance sheet head start was about ten years, and that's earning fairly low wages until mid 20s. Between not having as much time to earn, the expense of school, and the student debt that has to be paid down in order to save and compound, it amounts to a decade.
- mandmandam 3y agoThat article was at least 20% advertisement for 'Benzinga'. This is a new low for news orgs... Well, not really, but I haven't experienced this flavor of intrusive advertising before. It's a shame; I thought Yahoo News were one of the least offensive.
