Eh, maybe it's coincidence, but I am Bipolar (type I) and I deeply relate to the personality type described by the article, including how the author relates ambition/boredom to mania/melancholia. Interestingly enough, I also had a favorite professor in college who mentored and looked out for me to a certain extent, who was big into Lisp and Haskell, and who was quite acquainted with bipolar disorder himself due to other people in his life.
