- ozfive 3y agoEdward O. Wilson's book called "The Diversity Of Life" touches on the invasive species of the Hawaiian islands. I highly recommend it.
- bradley13 3y agoSure, whatever they say. Fact it, the dry areas on Hawaii burn regularly. Fire is normal there, just inconvenuent for humans. In this case, high winds spread the fire rapidly. Poor land management meant that the fire easily engulfed settlements. But sure, literally everything is the fault of climate change.
- johnny99k 3y agoWhere I live, they blamed flooding roads on climate change. The real reason? The government had neglected road maintenance for a decade and roads flooded as a result. Governments love climate change. They can blame literally anything on it and people won't blame the actual culprit.
- riedel 3y agoIt is a little bit ridiculous to blame a single incident on climate change. However, it is probably fair to say that such incidents have become more likely. I guess, however, the same goes for bad maintenance work. What we can say, however, is that we need more resilient infrastructure everywhere due to climate change if we want to somehow deal with it. It makes no sense using it as an excuse...
