But what did people who lived near the Baltic sea do at that time? We have no idea. They might as well have not existed at all as far as historians are concerned.
- clarionbell 3y agoWell they didn't really write a lot, so it's understandable.
- qwytw 3y agoWe're extremely lucky in a way. Others civilization like the Etruscans or the Carthaginians which existed during the time of the Roman republic had an extensive literary tradition (according to the Greeks and Romans) but we have no surviving works written in their languages at all.
