I just had a 2-day delivery take over a week. It got scanned onto the truck when expected, then marked "incorrect address" and reworked to Depot, where it got lost. That was with a firm called DX.
My theory: I'm an hour or more out of the driver's way, so he or she just skipped it.
I'm cross, but: pay peanuts, get monkeys. Drivers in the UK aren't paid enough to care, and the schedule doesn't include enough slack. Some fuckwit with an MBA decided that the failure percentage is acceptable, and laissez-faire capitalism rewards cost-cutting.
I'd rather the vendor charged me more and sent my package with a courier that pays drivers enough to give a crap.
Keep squeezing the working class and everyone suffers.
