Everyone has neighbors, but in a city a ~tenth the size of than Chicago you'd have a hard time to find such a thing. Maybe "accidental" meetups were more common back then, it came to you rather than the other way around.

A city a tenth the size of Chicago is what 200k? I see similar meetups in these size cities when I look.
