There are only two answers for planes: Hydrogen or synthetic fuels. That is because weight is the overwhelming critical factor for planes. And batteries are about 100x too heavy for this purpose. No amount of handwaving can get around that part. People really need to stop suggesting battery powered planes. They are merely revealing their total lack of basic understanding of this subject.
