I had a friend in high school who owned her own music label. She was the most talented musician I had ever met in terms of performance, arrangement and overall songwriting. She released albums on an annual schedule, and even had a small fanbase of listeners that I was a part of. The money she made off music was pitiful though. She didn't just own her own label, she toured and wrote music every weekday. She gave it everything, more than most people have to offer, and in the end she got a salary most people would call "unlivable". The recent recession and COVID situation pushed her into a Starbucks job to pay rent. So... do what you want. I just want people to know that you could be one of the most talented self-made musicians in the world, and still go destitute despite owning your own label.
