"Being hit by a bus" is a largely metaphorical construction which describes any unnatural, unexpected or sudden death. Staying at home doesn't make a man any less susceptible to such dangers. In fact, a much more common danger, one which we should all plan for, is total incapacitation. If being hit by that bus, or slipping in the shower, doesn't kill you, you may wind up in a coma, or with TBI, and not in control of your mental faculties. Don't wind up like Terri Schiavo. Discuss these scenarios with your loved ones, work out a plan, make it legal and binding. You'll be thankful when the time comes, or when it doesn't.
