I like the concept and DeX is getting close. But many things work slightly annoying, with all annoyances combined, I rather use a full OS (Linux)
For instance:
- opening a new tab in chrome does not focus the address bar (can be mitigated by using Vivaldi browser)
- Text selection varies wildly between apps, with some allowing regular mouse selection, others requiring a double or long click and drag to select text. Dragging can easily interfere with swipe actions. Eg, you delete an email while trying to select text.
- No mouse hover, which bites especially in vscode.
- When switching between phone and DeX mode, apps restart (browsers will reload tabs)
- Many apps do not have an option to show multiple windows, for instance chrome does not support detaching a tab.
- Spell check with a physical keyboard is difficult.
I tried running a local Termux Linux distro over X11-VNC, regular VNC and RDP but didn't feel the experience was good enough.
