I knew this would be Simon Roper from the title.
His videos are fascinating and have helped me to better understand how Scots and English have diverged and evolved to sound they way they do now.
I'd recommend researching the great vowel shift, if you're unfamiliar, to learn more about why English is not pronounced how it is written.
- dwroberts 3y agoI really enjoyed his video about consciousness (https://youtu.be/qd1LG_2Fthk https://youtu.be/qd1LG_2Fthk) as well. He states he’s not an expert but there’s a sincerity to the way he talks about his thoughts that made it interesting still. Not standard YouTuber fare.
