>World’s largest study shows the more you walk, the lower your risk of death
that title makes 0 sense knowing all organisms eventually die.
- ggm 3y agoAll studies which say they lower risk of death implicitly mean "from avoidable causes, prematurely"
- Iulioh 3y agoA simpler example is that you have a certain risk of death every single day and it grows larger with age Let's say you have a 0,1% chance to die at 30yo every single day. As you age it goes to 0,3%..1%...2% and it can become a cointoss when you are very old and sick so instead it goes 0,2%...0.8%...1.5%
- 2Gkashmiri 3y agoi am just saying the title is wrong. it can be something like "reduce your chance of dying from a heartattack" or something .
- dragonwriter 3y ago“Risk of death” that is reduced isn’t a lifetime risk (which is obviously, as you note, irreducible) but an annual risk (which is, in fact, reducible).
- superchroma 3y agoEvidently we're not walking as much as we should be..
