I don't understand yet what Bindle is trying to do. It seems to be half archive format, half package manager, yet not innovating in either area nor adding anything by their combination. Additionally, it explicitly doesn't support 'latest' tags or branches, which exist in package ecosystems for a reason.

It seems the client/server is neccesary. Not an issue for cloud projects composed of many servers and SDKs like Deis Labs or Fermyon, but an issue for others wanting to adopt it.
