My mother got scratched by a cat while she was out in Turkey. She ended up losing 20kg (she was already incredibly frail prior) and spent 6 months on bed rest due to an unknown malaise. We honestly thought we were going to lose her. It's scary how a simply cut or graze from an animal can turn to that.
