Facebook has changed, but IIRC, it used to have profile settings where you could say you were a "Man, interested in women" and so forth. You can certainly set a Relationship Status of "Single", but that doesn't necessarily imply "Single and looking". As you know, Facebook started out as a college-oriented app, and so college students were often interested in dating one another through the app, by any means necessary, so there were built-in controls to reflect that sort of atmosphere of young mingling singles.
It may be difficult to correlate people on a given dating app with real-world names, since those are eschewed for privacy's sake, but it would seem that if someone could draw a target on someone with LinkedIn's search filters, and then pivot to find the person on a dating app, surely this would not be much different from the reverse. I guarantee you that everyone who is cautious and prudent will do a full social-media search of anyone they first met on a dating app, before they set foot in public for an in-person date, and there's nothing creepy or stalking about that kind of checking-up.
