Woman accused of being ‘unprofessional’ after LinkedIn confession
- NoZebra120vClip 3y agoNo need to "pursue" members of the opposite sex through LI. Simply use the filters, search and find them there, now you've got their full name, employer, and location. Then pivot to a more appropriate platform. Search their name on Facebook or Instagram, and figure out how to put a friend request or a DM in front of them. There you go.
- snvzz 3y agoSure. But it is creepy stalker behavior.
- NoZebra120vClip 3y agoFacebook has changed, but IIRC, it used to have profile settings where you could say you were a "Man, interested in women" and so forth. You can certainly set a Relationship Status of "Single", but that doesn't necessarily imply "Single and looking". As you know, Facebook started out as a college-oriented app, and so college students were often interested in dating one another through the app, by any means necessary, so there were built-in controls to reflect that sort of atmosphere of young mingling singles. It may be difficult to correlate people on a given dating app with real-world names, since those are eschewed for privacy's sake, but it would seem that if someone could draw a target on someone with LinkedIn's search filters, and then pivot to find the person on a dating app, surely this would not be much different from the reverse. I guarantee you that everyone who is cautious and prudent will do a full social-media search of anyone they first met on a dating app, before they set foot in public for an in-person date, and there's nothing creepy or stalking about that kind of checking-up.
