It'a modern colonialism. Our nascent technocratic socieities can barely handle the stress of digitized life, as evidenced by numerous mental health measures, broadcast real-life violence, mass incarceration, mass debt.... and yet we feel we can export our tech and monetize and impose on those around the globe.
