I'd make the argument that Core 2 Duo was the first 10+ year capable chip. For the avaerage person, A Core 2 Duo system from 2007-2008 could easily be used up to 2018. They are now starting to slow down quite a bit on modern web pages, but certainly still usable. The biggest thing holding them back is video decoding. I have a couple C2D MacBooks and the GPU has no hardware GPU decoding.
It's crazy to think 2018 was 5 years ago....
