Saudi Arabia falls back on state oil payout as deficit grows
- downrightmike 3y agoThey haven't been making deliveries and then they cut how much they are outputting to that lower level and still lower it. I get it that they need to reduce output to increase the price of oil as we are in the tail end of oil relevance, but this is ridiculous at this point. Given that they've started or backed wars with everyone around them in the last decade, they have no soft power, and if they don't have the cash of US weapons, they won't get them. There's literally nothing else of value there than the oil.

Yemen, sure, and I know about the (hotly contested) accusations about Iraq (and Syria), and but Jordan? Kuwait? UAE? Qatar? Egypt? Heck, even Israel, despite the history and absence of diplomatic recognition, they are more informally aligned with against Iran than opposed to.
