As of Ubuntu 11.10 my netbook randomly kernel panics with the default Wi-Fi drivers. It sure would be great if it didn't take out everything I was looking at because of one bad driver. Just saying.
- wolf550e 15y agoBug reported to LKML? Did you bisect? Did someone else? Did you at least test with latest upstream kernel to see if it was fixed already?
- stephank 15y agoYou're asking this of a casual user.
- davidw 15y agoOn a site called 'Hacker News', it's not entirely unreasonable to expect that a user may have the skills and inclination to contribute back to a project like the Linux kernel. Especially when it's a problem that affects them directly.
- hetman 15y agoAre you implying any of these activities would get back the stuff I was working on at the time? Because if not I think you sort of missed the point.
