Write down your usernames and account numbers as well.
Today my banking app decided to 'forget' my login details. I have the account number available at home but I'm in the office today and so I can't log back into my account. So I can't check balances or approve payments (luckily I'm too busy to spend money)
- Mordisquitos 3y ago> Write down your usernames and account numbers as well. ...but not in the same notebook as your passwords! Ideally, don't even store them in two locations which could potentially be compromised simultaneously due to burglary or theft.
- vel0city 3y agoFor banking/investing, I consider it a good idea to keep a few recent-ish physical printed statements on accounts which show all the details that might be useful in the future. Every few months I'll print off a statement and stash it in a file folder, I clean out the files every few years.
- alistairSH 3y agoInteresting. All my banking apps use the same login as the plain website. So, if the app forgot my login, I'd just re-enter it, pass MFA, and be done. Account #s not required.
