Don, is there anything of NeWS or other toolkits that would work on modern-day X11 on Linux/BSDs?
Would a Display PostScript (like NeXTStep or the Solaris provided X11 server had) be needed to run NeWS?
- DonHopkins 3y agoCheck out Duncan Mac's "Noticias - an implementation of NeWS for the Web": https://github.com/duncanmak/noticias https://github.com/duncanmak/noticias
- shrubble 3y agoHi Don, terribly sorry but that URL doesn't load for me - does it load for you?
- DonHopkins 3y agoWhoops, it must be a private repo! I'll encourage him to announce it here when it's ready.
- DuncanMak 3y agoYeah, I've been working on Noticias, which is an implementation of NeWS in Typescript targeting the browser. Initially, I used HTML5 Canvas to draw, but I'm now in the process of switching over to SVG. Once I have demos that I can show, I'll be making the repo public. If you're interested in working it, please reach out to me, duncanmak@gmail.com.
