The current Two Minutes Hate* against Elon Musk is frustrating.
Those of us who don’t want to be part of this politically-motivated nastiness know we will be ostracised, so we avoid speaking out against it.
And so the hateful groupthink persists.

- cbeach 3y agoCome on. Let’s rise above this rabble rousing. HN is better than this. Let’s elevate the discussion beyond ad-hominems about this man. He is doing more for the long-term future of humanity than most of us, and our views on his personality really aren’t worth this constant examination.

- agubelu 3y agoHis achievements are well known, but they are not the main topic of discussion here. Being a successful entrepreneur, inventor or innovator shouldn't shield you from criticism for your personal actions.
- Timon3 3y agoHow about we also rise above comments like: > The current Two Minutes Hate* against Elon Musk is frustrating. > Those of us who don’t want to be part of this politically-motivated nastiness know we will be ostracised, so we avoid speaking out against it. > And so the hateful groupthink persists. > *read “1984” by George Orwell
