Liquorix: Optimized Linux kernel for low latency A/V, higher game FPS rates

• zshrc 3y ago
Can we get some metrics? How much of a performance does this bring in action?

The title seems wrong. This kernel distribution claims lower frame rate deviations, not higher frame rates. As in "you're getting consistent 50fps rather than jitter between 40-60fps". If anyone's interested in this area, there's also Xanmod which carries some custom patches. https://xanmod.org/ https://xanmod.org/

Looks like this could be made useful as an alternate kernel to boot to if you configfure GRUB to reliably include this particular boot option. From the forum admin: >The install script just installs the kernel. You still need to configure grub to prefer Liquorix if it's not already. Not knowing how your bootloader operates and how to configure it is a recipe for disaster. So you are expected to put a certain level of Grub ninja ability into action after you have run the install script. And defend valiantly against disaster.
