But seriously, it gets awkward when you can ask the model, "what is the likelihood that this project we are discussing is successful?"
and the model responds
"this project will most likely be cancelled due to the fact that the last three initiatives like this were cancelled and the current project manager appears to be disinterested earlier in the project than last time"
- ssabev 3y agoThis hit too close to home :(
- staunton 3y agoJust because the project wiļl most likely be cancelled doesn't necessarily mean one shouldn't work on it. It might, after all, not be cancelled.
- loa_in_ 3y agoStatistics can be a very scientific way to conceal reality.
- talldatethrow 3y agoBecause every relationship I ever started has ended, means I should stop dating!
- comboy 3y agoSome people do things which are unlikely to be successful blindly, but some do it despite slim chance of success (hello YC), so presumably it would just remove ignorance (or make it more elaborate).
- gumby 3y agoI would not be comfortable with the "reasoning" of an artificial system that mixed up "disinterested" and "uninterested".
- j45 3y agoHaha, well said. Not to mention there weren't enough people to understand the coverage of required details and their impacts, or interested to do so.
- rounakdatta 3y agoIt would also get awkward when you get an unexpected Slack message of "You told Jane that you'd take this point offline, make sure to actually continue the conversation". At that point, the matrix would become completely inescapable ;)
