I really want to believe you are not suggesting that a specific policy has, or will ever, stop someone from shooting up their office, but I don't see any other way to read this. Could you clarify?
- TuringNYC 3y agoPolicies definitely work by creating friction. They dont stop all crimes, but they deter them. Just like locks on doors: sure people can break the locks, but often it deters them just enough not to bother. This is why we have car door locks. Bicycle locks. Metal detectors. ID checks at stores. Unfortunately nothing is perfect.
