The higher pay is a big thing - lots of people think they "need" to take a pay cut but this is absolutely not the case. Often, I think it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy - people self-deprecatingly accept lesser pay because a job is remote, when in fact a compromise was never needed to begin with. When my old company (paying top of market) started to enforce RTO, I left for another company paying ~twice as much - fully remote.
