I reject the notion that no decent person seeks to lead. I agree it is hard to stay in power without getting your hands dirty, but many good people have been leaders. And to normalize the idea otherwise would be a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy.

It is hard to argue that Jimmy Carter is not a good person. It is also hard to argue that he was a good president.
