I learned vim as a kid in the 90s and used it my entire life. I've never used anything else. The hours it has saved me through its efficiency and productivity has probably extended my lifespan. Vim was born out of a simple system and a deep empathy and understanding of what a developer really needs. In every line of code, every efficient series of keystrokes, his legacy endures. May it last forever. Rest in peace.
