I don't think the threat is general AI, actually. If it is, it'll have to hurry to find anything left to destroy. Think pettier. Think "using CCTV and network traffic data, give me a full list of people who belong to $race". Hollerith Lochkarten on steroids, if you will. Or Elon Musk using it to find anyone who ever mocked him on Twitter, find compromising info on them, and destroy their lives, and if none can be found, use a budget of at most X dollars to hire a person who lives nearby to severely wound them. This is partly possible already, partly just a matter of time. Put your friends on a whitelist and you don't have to lose sleep over false positives either.
