Elon Musk’s X can’t send Blue subscribers their ad revenue payouts on time
- ehnto 3y agoThis could be a totally legitimate rollout hurdle for a new program, but the fastest way to lose people's trust is to fuck with their money. People signing up to the program will already feel like it is their money, an entitlement they earned. Unfortunately these kinds of creator relationships are frequently lopsided and entirely un-negotiated. You just get what they give you and be happy about it.
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoWho knew everyone who paid 8 would sign up to get money back. And who knew running payroll for potentially hundreds of thousands of people would be so complicated. P. S. Who knew signs require permits.
- superchroma 3y agoIf Elon, with his breathtaking intelligence, could not have foreseen such things, I'm sure nobody else could have either, even subject matter experts in the fields of digital payment systems or working with local government. Nope. Not possible. Sometimes you just gotta drive your car into the lake to find out what happens.
- Zigurd 3y agoElon is on a knife edge. On one side is accumulating too many liabilities so that the LBO lenders would have to force liquidation to get anything back. On the other side is a raise that would have to be at a staggeringly lower valuation. I would bet that X already has some hidden debt to Elon and that finances are maximally opaque. Maybe a regulator should ask the creditors how solid are their loans. If Elon is allowed to shannan now he will shannan again.
