Presumably the 5-series will be starting production. I'm not sure why it's a spit in the face anymore than any other manufacturer. Doesn't Apple ramp down production on its older product lines?
- tehbeard 3y agoGiven Nvidia's past actions with 30 series supply and prioritizing AI/crypto markets over gamers back then, it's a fair if barbed assessment as they were primarily gaming focused before. They are not beholden to choose a particular market out of loyalty though. They'll chase profit even if it means burning some bridges. I think they're gambling on AMDs poor history with drivers continuing to keep a moat for Nvidia as the "good stuff"... How well that holds, we shall see.
- deprecative 3y agoOh, they're no arbiters of goodness or anything. I'm not trying to suggest they are. I am merely asking / theorizing that the slowdown in production on the 4-series is not hostile or anti-consumer any more than any other company winding down their production of previous generation inventory as they shift to their soon to be released generation.
