Vancouver has a photo booth where you can watch your photos develop
- ciclotrone 3y ago> “The Russian company that was making the light-sensitive paper stopped manufacturing it and it’s run out,” said Azariah, who has now managed to import light-sensitive strips from Czechoslovakia. Ok the vintage feeling of the article, but Czechoslovakia split 30 years ago.
- kalleboo 3y agoAfter reading the article, I just had to look up a video of what a photo booth like this looks like in operation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq0qD4-ntDI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq0qD4-ntDI
- Tempest1981 3y agoThanks. I vaguely remember the different steps (developer, stop bath, fixer, stabilizer?) -- but don't the times spent in each - need to be different?
- iNerdier 3y agoIt’s giving a positive so likely there’s a bleach and fogging + re-development step on top of the usual ones.
- Waterluvian 3y agoThis whole thing gave me the warm fuzzies. I love seeing old tech get a new life. Then I was jolted back to reality when I saw that a strip is $8. Sadly there’s no competing with a digital camera + printer installed into a booth.
- spread_love 3y agoSo much about darkrooms are tranquil, watching a b&w photo "come to life" made the idea of gelatin silver emulsion click for me. Great project!
