It's hard to get the full context of this presentation just from the slides, but I'm assuming the author is talking about Python test frameworks. I've been using nose in combination with coverage (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/coverage http://pypi.python.org/pypi/coverage) for a year and have been very happy with it.
