Idk about Canada but the visa process for tech workers in the US isn't exactly easy (unless you're from India or China, which represent 85% of all h1bs). You pretty much have to pay for a Graduate degree in the US to get to work here, which is expensive. Its kind of a pay to play model really. Germany's requirements are actually less strict, but agreed, the process is more nebulous. Hard to find resources online, mostly in German.
