Pixel Art XL: Stable Diffusion XL for Pixel Art
- yayitswei 3y agoAre there any good resources for generating art for games? (pixel art or otherwise)
- dvrp 3y agoI've seen people use Scenario.GG and Leonardo AI. I myself am working on KREA, but we focus more on moodboards, though some people use our software to create assets for games.
- magistr4te 3y agoIn my experience, using these direct pixelart models is very limiting (and often quite expensive). I've had a lot of success using a combination of stylized StableDiffusion models like OccidentalMix (careful, potentially NSFW: https://civitai.com/models/63920/occidentalmix https://civitai.com/models/63920/occidentalmix) and Ditherdragon (https://winterveil.itch.io/ditherdragon https://winterveil.itch.io/ditherdragon) which uses special downscaling algos to turn that into astoundingly good Pixelart.
- TeaDude 3y agoThat's actually pretty impressive. I always assumed that AI wouldn't be too good for pixel art due to the low resolution and thus less area for the uncanny effects to be concealed. The previous pixel AI I'd seen had this really awkward pillow shaded art-style but this is much better.
