Where to go to ask questions about LLMs?
There is a ton of activity and interest around LLMs. On HackerNews alone it seems there are least several highly upvoted posts per day about LLMs. Where are all of these people going to ask their questions about LLMs? The LLM tag activity on stack exchange sites is abysmal. You would think LLMs were obscure based on the activity there. For example:
* https://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/llm: 131 questions
* https://stats.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/llm 11 questions
* https://ai.stackexchange.com/tags/llm 0 questions
* https://datascience.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/llm 8 questions
Are the main conversations happening elsewhere, on a different site or a different medium altogether, like on Discord?
I asked Bing's Chat GPT this same question, and it gave me a non-answer, so I'm turning to HN.
My questions range from coding details (e.g., LangChain), to theory questions (e.g., details about how embeddings are calculated) to tactical (in which situations to use various methods).
- PUSH_AX 3y agoIt's incredibly fragmented I've found. There are a lot of discord servers, some more popular than others. I'm not in any coding specific ones, but I'm in Runpods for infra kind of stuff, TheBloke AI for open model chat and releases. A couple of software specific ones like Text Generation WebUI.. Github issues for various LLM related OSS. Reddit, r/LocalLLaMA but I actively avoid reddit now.
