- DeathArrow 3y agoSo you buy two letters for $10 and sell them for $11m? That's a ROI...
- CamelCaseName 3y agoYes, but you would have had to get it in 1993 and hold it until now. The best time to buy a domain was 30 years ago
- acters 3y agoThe best time to buy anything was before and during the internet's creation.
- dougSF70 3y agoThe second best time to buy a domain is today.
- silisili 3y agoI dunno 29 years ago seems better...
- askiiart 3y agoNitpick warning: .ai was actually introduced in 1995, according to Wikipedia[1]. But yeah. [1] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/.ai https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/.ai
- solumunus 3y agoThey’re talking about ai.com
- askiiart 3y agoOhhhh, whoops. I'm an idiot, my bad :P
- soultrees 3y agoNot an idiot. I know it’s something we say in passing as a way to belittle ourselves to our mistake and that nobody takes it at face value but by you saying you’re an idiot, even in the most casual passing, deeply ingrains a thought that you are indeed an idiot. Which you are not, because if you were an idiot then you wouldn’t even know and therefore wouldn’t even be calling yourself an idiot if you were. This isn’t a dig at you specifically but just a comment to anyone who reduces themselves over a minor mistake.
- MillionOClock 3y agoFrom the article: > Alternative explanations, such as that someone did OpenAI a massive, multimillion dollar favor, strain plausibility. So maybe Elon Musk did, in fact, make a multimillion dollar favor to OpenAI until today?
