“Social credit score” is pure western propaganda. It’s called “trust score” and it’s by companies like Tencent (at the behest of the Chinese government) instead of directly from the CCP. Having a low score prevents usage of public facilities (transport, vending machines). Mine was so low I can’t buy a drink via WeChat
