I was as surprised as you are but AFAIK he didn't receive any email from Apple and he certainly didn't agree to having his account deleted. I guess one possibility is the hacker might have accessed my father's email but it seems improbable. AFAIK my father didn't store passwords on the keychain and didn't sync it with iCloud.
