It's absolutely true. I'm in the technological side of finance. I create a lot of cool systems. I absolutely hate what they are applied to, but it's satisfying to use technologies and design complex systems. But in the end it is utterly pointless. However so is so much other crap in the world.. and if I'm not doing this someone else will. Thus I try to take solace in just the work I do, not necessary what it's applied to. But yeah- finance is 98% bullshit in this world.
