One question is: "How easy is HTML to read for humans." Everyone who has spent more than a few months writing software will be familiar with the idea. But for someone who has never seen it - is the concept intuitive? Do bright 8th graders get it if shown it for the first time on a test? I used to think the answer was "pretty difficult," but I haven't come up with anything better. Maybe there is something to be done with indentation - but that has it's own challenges.
