I'm interested in whether they're truly effective. It seems like some of these victories are hollow and meaningless. I've talked to Europeans in tech that seem to think this. I agree they've been right in spirit, and definitely think it's better than doing nothing, and I think those same colleagues from Europe would agree.

Regulation as infrastructure needs to be built, the holes will be constant and need patching I think.
