I call this the definition of done. It’s when my kids think they’re done with breakfast but haven’t washed their hands. It’s when a PM is done with a feature when it’s deployed to production but its success hasn’t been measured. It’s when I’m done with writing a blog post but haven’t proofread it. Defining done and having stakeholders agree on the definition is how we move forward. Without that, the entropy of work trends to empty busyness.
