Show HN: Adapt framework – build privacy-by-design peer-to-peer applications
- rnjailamba 3y agoWhat does "Technologically-assured trust" entail, is this related to "Cryptographically-assured trust"?
- agentultra 3y agoBlockchain, basically. ZK-snarks, likely some kind of PoW or PoS chain algorithm.
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoHey! Thank you for your note. Our project primarily focuses on cryptography verification and access control for data, while also encompassing areas such as zero-knowledge proofs, blockchain, and more. In short, the core of the project consists of a database and a special programming language with code verification. You can find more in our whitepaper and documentation: - https://docsend.com/view/v8m6fh57ec65gt8z https://docsend.com/view/v8m6fh57ec65gt8z - https://docs.adaptframework.solutions/release/0.1/ https://docs.adaptframework.solutions/release/0.1/
- bjord 3y agois the usage of this weird docsend thing to display the whitepaper really necessary? I was hoping to download it as a pdf and read it later—now I'm forced to individually save each page as an image myself
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoApologies for that, and thank you for your comment. We have made the whitepaper available for direct access: https://blog.adaptframework.solutions/pdf/adapt-wp-public.pdf https://blog.adaptframework.solutions/pdf/adapt-wp-public.pd...
- bjord 3y agono worries, thanks!
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoBtw you can view the full list of our PDFs here: https://blog.adaptframework.solutions/pdf/ https://blog.adaptframework.solutions/pdf/
- rapnie 3y ago"Chief Zero Knowledge Officer" as job description is assured to do great at parties.
- jksmith 3y agoYeah takes Vegas to the next level.
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoLol, good point)) I'll steal this joke if you don't mind <3
- sbarre 3y agoI read that whole homepage and I'm still not sure what this actually is, or is for? Not throwing shade here, the headline did make me interested, but maybe I'm just not the target audience at all?
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoHey) Thank you for you note. We are targeting projects and developers who are interested in technologically-assured trust, primarily focusing on cryptography verification, but also including areas such as zero-knowledge proofs, blockchain, and more.
- catapart 3y agoIn case anyone is interested: websites like this, that do not show any way for me, as a developer, to get started with the development make me skeptical that the people in charge of advertising said product or service are aligned with the needs of developers they are trying to provide products or services to. Further, the requirement of an email in order to access the whitepaper makes this seem like a data harvesting endeavor, rather than a true advertisement of a useful service. To be clear: that's just one perspective. I'm sure the more crypto-focused devs will find this to be more informative than me. But the point is, if you're trying to recruit a web and application developer, like me, to use your product, I'm going to need to see how I can go from what I am doing to what you are proposing. Usually, that involves some code samples that look familiar to me, and some that look new and highlight how your API is used. Put more simply: people trying to sell me a useful service are usually right out front trying to put me in the driver's seat. Anytime I see more of a pitch than a demonstration, I think I'm looking at a prospect (value-potential), rather than a product (value-add). Again, just my two cents. Sorry if it is abrasive. Just trying to give the feedback I would want to get.
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoSorry if I disappointed you. We are currently working hard on our first public alpha with examples and will soon release it to the public. In the meantime, you can check out our whitepaper and documentation: - https://docsend.com/view/v8m6fh57ec65gt8z https://docsend.com/view/v8m6fh57ec65gt8z - https://docs.adaptframework.solutions/release/0.1/ https://docs.adaptframework.solutions/release/0.1/ This project is not a crypto scam; our solution is fundamentally not tied to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Discord and Email are provided for communication if you are interested in technologically-assured trust projects - feel free to join us)
- catapart 3y agoThe docsend link still requires an email. But the docs link is a great start! Maybe I'm missing it, but it doesn't seem represented on the product website, so if it is there, maybe make it more obvious? And if your docs aren't linked from the product website, I think that is a mistake. Anyway, it seems like this is at the pre-production stage, so most of my commentary isn't relevant. But I appreciate you clearing that up and I'll check back when you're closer to a release.
- worksonmine 3y agoIronic how there's no way to reject third-party cookies, with the only options being "Accept" and "More info". Then under more info you find: > This includes Google Analytics cookies, which enable us to track visitor behavior and measure site performance. We may also collect anonymous information using Google Analytics Advertising cookies to analyze trends, statistics, and improve customer service. These cookies may automatically collect additional information, such as user location. We enable Google Analytics only when users approve it by clicking the "Approve" button on the cookie banner. For more information about Google cookies, What about Google Analytics is anonymous? Maybe they should try to adapt (pun intended) to their own "privacy-by-design" framework. You can have analytics without Google, or any third-party for that matter. Nice of them to not include it until accepted, but how about an option to get rid of the banner without accepting?
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoApologies for that, and thank you for your comment. We have turned off the cookie banner and switched from Google Analytics to Plausible - GDPR, CCPA, and cookie law compliant site analytics. We don't use cookies, we don't generate any persistent identifiers, and we don't collect or store any personal or identifiable data behind your back.
- anagri 3y agowhat is this website about? why is it shared in HN? why is it ranking so high in HN? what's in it for me? appreciate if we don't do link drops, rather share it with how it benefits HN audience in mind.
- bratgpttamer 3y ago- No GitHub link - Discord, Cookies - Third-party email collection to even read whitepaper Much private. Very peer. No thanks.
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoI'm sorry if I disappointed you. We are currently working hard on our first public alpha with examples and will soon release it to the public...
- jitl 3y agoI don’t think this should be “Show HN” because we can’t try it. From the rules https://news.ycombinator.com/showhn.html https://news.ycombinator.com/showhn.html emphasis mine: > Off topic: blog posts, sign-up pages, newsletters, lists, and other reading material. Those can't be tried out, so can't be Show HNs. Make a regular submission instead. > If your work isn't ready for users to try out, please don't do a Show HN. Once it's ready, come back and do it then. Don't post landing pages or fundraisers.
- filipp-frizzy 3y agoYes, my bad. Looks like moderators already hide it from main page, so no actions from me required... Sorry if I disappointed you. We are currently working hard on our first public alpha and will soon release it to the public. In the meantime, you can check out our whitepaper and documentation: - https://docsend.com/view/v8m6fh57ec65gt8z https://docsend.com/view/v8m6fh57ec65gt8z - https://docs.adaptframework.solutions/release/0.1/ https://docs.adaptframework.solutions/release/0.1/
